Open Up Part Two

Here is a collection of three classic spoon type items mounted on garden wire and framed in a 2in wide oak frame that has been washed in off white. The overall measurements are 17.25 inches by 13.5 inches and the inside measures 13.5 inches by 9.5 inches. The piece weighs about 3.2 pounds. All pieces appear to be vintage. The shot stirrer has a few stains on it, but is in good condition. The egg separator and ice cream scoop (for orange julius) show quite a bit of wear/staniing.This makes a great decorative piece for any one that opens alot of beverages or food containers: chefs, bartenders caterers. Eye Glass cases

This little eye glass case is perfect for the primitive lover in your life.Hand punched on 100% wool, this case is hand trimmed with buttonhole stitching at the opening. The color of the wool is black. This case will fit most new style "granny" glasses - it measures aprroximately 6 1/4" long by 2 1/2" wide.Eyeglasses shown are not included. They are mine and I need them! ;-)

Fall Pumpkin Coasters Trivets

These great coasters are done in rug punch on burlap with 100% wool. The brown is overdyed and beautifully mottled - A nice touch for these primitve goodies. Each coaster/trivet measures about 4 inches square and has cork backing to reduce slipage. These fall cuties are thick enough to insulate from heat so you can use them as trivets for fall meal service and naturally absorbant to serve as coasters. Either way these are great additions to your prim decor!

This is one of a set of four coaster that I rug punched. I used 100% wool yarn - the brown was overdyed. The edeges are trimmed in homespun. The backs are corked to help prevent slipage. The overall measurements are about 5inches square. This was ended up being a gift for my best friend's anniversary.

Etsy Treasury

I did it again! here is my fourth time in an Etsy treasury. I am so proud! I finally figured out the process of saving the screen so I can publish this (and perhaps future) treasury(ies) here. This one made the Etsy front page and I got about 60 or so hits.

Recycled Apple Bucket

This has been one of my favorite pieces. I painted this standard scub bucket to give it a faux rust look. I used Corel to manipulate the font to give it that vintage look and then han painted it on the bucket. Then I used my version of a Becky Erickson pattern for the apples and crows and then distressed the heck out of those. I truly enjoyed creating this particular set.

Primitive Santa Doll

This Santa was lovingly hand made from off white flannel and stuffed with new poly fiberfill. His face is hand sewn/sculpted and his beard and mustache are made from alpaca yarn that has been sewn into place.

Santa’s clothes are made from super soft red cotton flannel with white cotton trim that has been hand stitched into place. Santa’s hat has also been stitched into place and sports a rusty bell at the very tip. This bell has been rusted by me using vinegar and salt. It is not commercially rusted.

Santa’s boots are painted and cotton twine serves as his laces. Cotton twine is also used at his waist as a rope belt to keep his pants up. This Santa has been antiqued all over with coffee (no dyes or harsh chemicals) so he has variations and shades of brown/tan all over him.

Snowlady on a Sled

Now that I am back in the studio here is my latest hot of the paintbrush:

My Etsy description reads:

Who says it not time for winter decorations? This snowlady is sure to warm your heart year round with her primitive design and happy salutaion.

Handpainted in washes and with drybrushing techniques, this snow lady is painted directly on a decorative sled that measures approximately 23 inches long, 4 inches wide and about 1 and 3/4 inches high (sled rails).

The entire item has been stressed and distressed to lend an antique feel. It has been covered in 3 layers of matte sealer for protection. It may be cleaned with a damp cloth or dusting spray. If you like I can add your family name in the snow just under the "Warm Winter Wishes" greeting at no additional charge.

I have two more items that are ready to be posted and another that is being painted as I get the time. Hopefully I'll have those up soon.
